Nestled at the corner of Main and Broad Streets, the Salem Farmers Market has been a vital hub for community connection and local agricultural since 1992. More than just a place to shop, the market serves as a downtown space for local farms, food producers, and artisans from within 100 miles of Salem to share their work with the community. Special events are held throughout the season, promoting the market, local farms, and the downtown business community. The Salem Farmers Market one of 20 markets in the Commonwealth to receive Gold Certification by the Virginia Farmers Market Association — recognizing the markets attention to food safety, best practices, and community service. Fresh produce, artisan baked goods, hand-cut flowers, local honey, eggs, grass-fed beef, and pasture-raised pork and poultry are just a few of the local agricultural products available to shoppers on a regular basis.
